From a Wedding Day Scare to a Mission for Healthy Pups: The Phluffy.in Story

The air crackled with excitement. It was November 24th, 2024, the day we, Tanish Prakash and Mamta Thatte, were to be married. Our wedding was in Pune, a vibrant city brimming with tradition and celebration. But our journey to the altar began 32 hours earlier, in Patna, with a furry, four-legged member of our family who would unknowingly change the course of our lives: LucyFur, our beloved Labrador Retriever.

LucyFur wasn't just our pet; she was family. And, in a role befitting her importance, she was our designated ring bearer. The image was perfect: our loyal, loving Lab, trotting down the aisle with the symbols of our commitment. But behind the idyllic picture, a serious problem was looming – a problem that would soon become starkly, terrifyingly clear.

The Beginning

The Problem Emerges:

Like many Labradors, Lucy had a healthy appetite…and a tendency to, well, phluff up. Over time, her love for treats and perhaps a little too much generosity on our part had led to significant weight gain. That fall could have been much, much worse. The image of her struggling, her inability to perform a simple jump, was seared into my memory.

The rest of the train journey was a blur of anxiety and reflection. We watched LucyFur, her panting a little heavier than usual, her movements a little slower. We talked, quietly at first, then with growing urgency, about what we needed to do. We knew we couldn't continue down this path. We had to help her.

It wasn't just about the train, or even the wedding. It was about LucyFur's life. We wanted her to be with us, healthy and happy, for many years to come. We wanted her to run on the beach, chase balls in the park, and yes, even jump onto trains without risking injury.
